Pebble Beach
A magical slice of California coastline. Nestled in the Pine and Cypress trees of the Del Monte Forest, a private enclave resides nestled around world-famous golf courses.
Pebble Beach is a highly coveted community located on the Monterey Peninsula in California. It is known for its natural beauty, world-class golf courses, and luxurious lifestyle. The community is a gated enclave with stunning homes nestled in the trees, along the coast, and on the golf courses.
Pebble Beach has a rich history that dates back to the early 1900s when it was first developed by a group of investors. They had a vision of creating a luxury resort community that would attract the wealthy and influential. A team of architects and landscape designers were hired to create a master plan for the development, which included designing a golf course and building a luxurious lodge. Samuel F.B. Morse was challenged to build the first golf course in Pebble Beach. He hired golf amateurs, Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, in 1919. The course was built on the rugged coastline, and its stunning views of the Pacific Ocean made it an instant hit with golf enthusiasts. The lodge, which was originally called the Del Monte Lodge, was also built in 1919 and became an instant hotspot for the rich and famous. Over the years, the lodge has undergone several renovations and expansions, and today it is known as the Lodge at Pebble Beach.
Today, Pebble Beach is a private gated community that is home to over 4,000 residents. The community has its own unique character, with homes ranging from cozy cottages to grand estates. One of the most exclusive areas of Pebble Beach is 17 Mile Drive, which is a scenic road that winds through the community and offers stunning views of the coastline. Along the drive, there are several famous landmarks, including the Lone Cypress, a 250-year-old cypress tree that has become a symbol of Pebble Beach.
Pebble Beach is also home to two of the most exclusive golf clubs in the world – the Monterey Peninsula Golf Club and Cypress Point Golf Club. The Monterey Peninsula Golf Club was founded in 1919 and has two championship courses – the Dunes Course and the Shore Course. The club has hosted several major tournaments over the years, including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Cypress Point Golf Club was founded in 1928 and is considered one of the best golf courses in the world. The course was designed by Alister MacKenzie and features stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The club is highly exclusive and membership is by invitation only.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of the most famous golf tournaments in the world and is held annually at Pebble Beach. The tournament was originally called “The Crosby” after its founder, Bing Crosby. It was first played in 1937 and has since become a major event on the PGA Tour calendar. The tournament attracts some of the biggest names in golf and entertainment and is known for its unique format, which pairs professional golfers with celebrities.
Living in Pebble Beach offers residents a luxurious lifestyle with access to world-class amenities. The community is surrounded by natural beauty, with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush forests of the Monterey Peninsula. The area is also home to several art galleries, restaurants, and boutiques, making it a cultural hotspot.
